Park Ward - Peter Bulman

With a career stretching from teaching to local authority administration and transport management, Peter is currently Human Resources Manager in the UK for a major international industrial gases company.

Peter entered local politics when he was elected to represent Park Ward in May 1998. Since then, he has undertaken a variety of senior roles, including membership of the Cabinet. Passionate about the importance of placing customers at the heart of the organisation and value for money, he has been instrumental in driving the changes that will deliver more cost-effective services.

A fierce supporter of local issues, Peter has campaigned vigorously on behalf of all his constituents to promote and protect individual and neighbourhood issues, particularly opposing the surge in residential developments that are changing the nature of our much-cherished town. He is hard working, enthusiastic and always recognises that he is there for a single purpose - to serve the interests of his constituents, and help to make Tunbridge Wells a prosperous, attractive, and desirable place for all its residents.

If elected as your Councillor, Peter will:-

Give continued support to the residents of Hawkenbury in opposing any future intention to build houses on the Hawkenbury Farm site.
Continue objecting to any proposals by Wealden Council to allocate land for residential development on our border with that council.
Make certain that pressure for new development does not compromise our quality of environment and heritage nor lead to more back land development.
Press for the introduction of road safety measures on the notorious accident-prone Forest Road.
Engage with young people and explore initiatives to encourage them to be young community leaders.
Campaign for improved community and sports facilities
Support any initiatives that make life easier for the elderly in our society.
Encourage new strategies to deal with the effect of traffic on our town, and lobby for more money from government and KCC for road and pavements maintenance.
Be actively involved in developing a first class Town Hall administration that is responsive to the needs of residents
