Benenden & Cranbrook Ward - Sean Holden

Sean lives in Golford, between Benenden and Cranbrook, with his wife, Corinna, and their four young children. He served as a councillor and cabinet member on his previous council.

He's a former TVam and Meridian TV reporter who now deals in property, a business he's run from Cranbrook, with his brother, Kevin, for seven years. Sean's interests include military history, model making and Taekwon-do. He has served as a major in the Territorial Army. Sean moved here in 2005.

As Conservative candidate for the council I'm committed to:

Getting good community facilities, funded by commercial rents, at the Cranbrook Council Office site
Getting Benenden's new primary school built without any further delay
Obstructing Labour's development mania and helping to protect Benenden, Cranbrook and the Weald from Labour's plans to concrete our countryside
Low taxes. I don't believe people should expect above inflation Council Tax increases every single year. On my last council I oversaw inflation-only rises for four years in a row.
Pressing for width and weight limits in Benenden's lanes to stop huge lorries rat-running through them.
Seeking to restore a bus service to Hastings and pressing for better public transport links to the new hospitals for patients and visitors from rural areas.

'Save Council Offices For Our Town'

"I will continue to argue for the Cranbrook Council Office site to be saved as the home of our local voluntary services and as a community hub. I have long pressed council leaders to work with the Weald Centre Project to build on its plan for a new community centre funded by commercial rents. Last year I managed Cllr Linda Hall's campaign to save the council offices. Now there's to be a meeting after the election. If I'm elected as your councillor I'll be there to press the case for the Weald Centre Project."

Benenden Primary School
Let's Get It Built!

"The long debate has ended with the County Council's choice of the Pasture site. Now the job is to push to get it built. If I'm elected I'll keep digging the County's ribs until it starts digging the ground."
